hey wassup yo! i have a carbon fiber duckbill wing on my hatch, but shiiit is hella faded, was wondering if it would look riight if i paint it same color as my car which is si blue? never seen a painted duckbill, anyone have any pictures? please help yo!!

SI blue, which year? (only blue SIs i can think of) i'm thinking you have... electron blue pearl.

its a 97 ek hatchback, yeaa its painted si blue (ekectron blue), my carbon fiber wing is pretty faded and was wondering if it would look alright if i painted it electron blue as well, here are some pictures ot the wing:

 

wrong forum but yea it would look good painted...you got all the EF'ers excited about the duckbill...

paint it a candy blue so the weave is still visible, but there is color in it

I would just get it recleared.

 

yea i was thinking about that too, how much would it run to get it re-clearcoated you know?

get some 2000 grit wetsand and sand with that then buff it and wax it and it'll be good to go again.

 

yeah i had hear u could do that and get some clear coat for fiberglass boats and use to re-clear it? im not positive on the process ive just reaf about other peeps doin it that way, good luck man

 

wet sand, clear coat, buff, good as new

I am in favor of painting extra body parts, but in this case, we wet sanded it and sprayed some clear coat, and damn, that thing looked brand new.

 

you should go with redoing the clearcoat.. that wing looks tite as it is yO!!

Seeing as how his car isn't 'candy blue' it wouldn't match.

Why did you pay so much for the Cf duckbill if your wanting to paint it?
Take that **** to a body shop and re clear that mother.

 

RECLEARCOAT IT. It would prob be cheaper to fix it, then to paint it.
