so the other day me and a friend finished my d16 swap and whille i went inside for a bathrrom break he started my car up. dosent sound to bad but the thing is there was no fluid in the tranny how bad was that to do to the tranny.

also its a 5 speed dont know if that matters.

 

put some oil in it and see.

 

thats ok, as long as you werent driving it around, just throw some synchromesh in there and it will be fine

 

It's definately not okay, but nothing should be messed up. Everything should run fine as long as it was only run for a couple of min.

if he held the clutch in the whole time it was running it's fine. if he let it out things were spinning in there. i'd imagine it would be ok if it only idled for a few seconds and he wasn't revving it and changing gears. there was probably a slight amount of oil coating stuff.
