Default People with RHD experience.

Whats up guys. I'm thinking of buying a RHD car. I am just making sure i get a full idea of what i'm getting into. So i just want to know, from people with experience driving and owning a rhd car, what is it like? What are the downfalls to it? There is a reason we drive on the left side of the car and the right side of the road in the US, so where is the conflict with right side and right side?

Thanks in advance.

For one, its going to be hard to pass up a truck in front of you with one lane going each way.

Driving a RHD in the states is a little more tricky then you think. For one your probably going to be hugging the right side more often since your body would sense that you are trailing over on your left more often, If its a real RHD then your side mirrors will be position correctly, however if you have a conversion and you have LHD mirrors, you will not be able to get full angle from your side mirrors. If you are shifting and are right handed it might feel a little uncomfortable at first to shift with your left hand. Signals will now be on the right side of sterring colum not left, and you might hit the left (windshield) wipers a few times on mistakes. But anyone can get used to it in my opionion.

to add.... making a left hand turns... you'd have to lean to the right...
well, you get the point. It's mostly the fact that you'll be hung on the right side and shifting with the other hand.

nothing you cant get used to. right hand turns or leaving a parking lot are kinda trick, but again, nothing too bad.

registrating the vehicle will be painful and will empty your pocket.
but besides that, right side is the tight side.

I found it to be a pain, but you can get used to it.pretty much everything has been listed about the complaints.it's very overrated IMO.but goodluck with your choice.

down here in the UK we drive on the left, so I guess overtaking cars would be a problem for you guys, and vice versa if i had a LHD overtaking would be difficult.
