Yes the lhd and rhd mirrors are different. If your car is rhd than you'll need rhd mirrors

They'll bolt up but you'll have to tilt the pass side mirror all the way to one side to use it or see out of it

Do a search...there are several posts from people who've swapped their USDM mirrors for JDM mirrors and they're like, "WTF...I can't see out of my mirrors!" They're not there to look cool...they're there to allow you to see traffic around/behind you. If you swap USDMs for JDMs, they won't even be able to do that, cool looking or not.
I think there may be one or two enterprising individuals who've gone through the hassle of swapping the glass, but I've never been able to confirm this. Definitely not worth it in my book.

you know how the pass. mirror says "objects in mirror are closer than they appear"
thats because the mirror is concave...or convex i cant remember. it allows you to see out of it correctly.
on a RHD vehicle the mirrors are reversed.
that is why they dont just swap over.

Would it be possible to just swap the glass from the right mirror to the left, and visa versa? Just throwing that out there.. Is there a writeup anywhere?

I have a set of rhd power folding mirrors for my crx. I haven't used them yet, but did test them to confirm that it is in fact angled very wrong for a LHD car. My solution was to buy USDM mirror glass and swap them in the jdm housings
