whats the best way to store a fully charged car battery (when not in a car)???
i just pulled my optima yesterday and fully charged it. the car it came out of will be parked for a while (thats why i pulled the battery)....now i was told that the battery will drain if your put/store it on the ground?? so does anyone know the right way to store a charged battery?
For my motorclyce I use a trickle charger.
I know they make them for cars too. This is for being stored in the car/truck though I guess you could use it if out.

I always take my car battery out when i store the car for the winter. Its out of the car for 6 months and i just put it in a warm, dry place on a shelf. Been using the same battery for at least 3 years (stored 3 winters) and never had a problem, never had to charge it either come summer.

on a block of wood. don't put it on a metal rack. I was told it was like putting it directly on the ground. Hope that helps.
