Default Muffler location?? A, B or stealth?

I was just curious as to whether it makes a difference sound and performance wise where your muffler is.

A or B?

And what muffler would you guys recommend for me? Will be on a daily ZC with just bolt ons. There is an exhaust shop here that will(and did on my friends car) run any size exhaust piping with a 3 chamber muffler(called it a 'turbo' muffler.. ha!) where ever you want(a or b), for $120.

I'm thinking of running 2 1/4" piping all the way back, and I think it might look better with the muffler where it is stock("B"), because these CRX's have such 'high' rear bumpers.. .but I'm just trying to decide on one thing... so maybe you guys can help me out.

Also, on a side note, I've also seen a few people run an "A" placed muffler with a 'stealth' type exhaust pipe routing, putting it right behind the passenger door, like so:

But my friend said that might be too much heat on that rear tire... so IDK...
What do you guys think about that?
[b]Go out and look under your CRX or Vic and see what I mean.. you'll see immediatly how that stealth would run.. and just stops about a foot in front of the rear tire...

Well? I'd love to hear your opinions... thanks.

sound yes performance not worth noting if anything.

I mself would go with B. I've never liked dumps on a Honda esp on a daily.

off a ZC I would use 2inch piping myself.

Twin loops sound horrid imo.
Mugen and DC are the only two I know of and well I think it's safe to say Mugens is a better part, also it is not made for 4th gens.

I still say 2 inch catback with muffler in stock location *B*.

Borla box would be good as long as you get the right size.

I'm not aware if Hooker areo chamber is make in little 4 cyl sizs if so I'd say that it's an awesome muffler.

magnaflow oval is really quiet, and you could put it on A. if you'd like then run a pipe whereever is clever.

Like This muffler run this way:

Yeah I tried to clean the pic up a bit... heh..:

I just ran it over the LCA's b/c I don't think I'd want to see JUST piping run back to my stock exhaust 'spot' on the bumper... but maybe I'd do it that way...

what do you guys think?

A. Does not have alot of space there. If your car is lowered it is not going to work
This spot is good for a resonator only

B. Prefered, Has the hangers on both sides to support the weight.

Stealth. Just like Nascar. no prob's with heat. But, please don't.

I'm thinking I want this setup(maybe diff. muffler):

DC-Sports 4-2-1
2 1/4" piping from cat back
Magnaflow "oval" C/C in stock position("B" on my sketches)

I'm looking for it to sound a little over stock(just so people know I have exhaust, but don't classify me as a ricer(sound wise).

On a side note.. would a high-flow cat be a bad idea?

You are duplicating my exhaust DC w/2 1/4 w/magnaflow.

It was loud without a resonator tried an 18" res and it was too quiet go for a 12" resonator.

Now it is quiet, but noticable that I have a header on it.

did you have it run like I want it to be?(B)?

Are resonators pretty much the same, or are different brands better than others?
