Anybody have any tips or know of any good sites to look at for cleaning of my z6 head?

as in take it off and clean it, intake cleaning, or fuel system cleaning?

removing the valvetrain and cleaning the whole head or can i clean it will all the valvetrain on still?

if your having a running problem that is related to carbon buildup then you may need to but I would suggest just running a can of Honda Top Engine Cleaner through the intake and a can of fuel treatment.

the head is not installed in the car. Im doing a mini me and I just bought the head but i wanna clean it up a bit. So whats a good way to do it MYSELF

take the cam, intake manifold and dizzy off and take it to one of those self car wash stations and pressure wash it.. or just do it at home if you have a pressure washer. Dont use soap, just water...

drop it in some purple power haha worked wonders for me only thing i took out was the cam and at the moment its running fine

correct way, hot tank it. should only cost a couple of bucks.

if you want to do it yourself, get a can of break clean and go to town on it with a rag. But thats a fully stripped head. Stay away from gaskets, o-rings etc.

so brake cleaner, varsol and Royal Purple are good cleaning supplies? then pressure wash it?
