Default How to remove water spots on glass?

Cleaned the car today and noticed that we have what appears to be water spots, tried using invisible glass but didn't work. Any recommendations?

If it happens on the paint, you need to use paint brightners or wax. When it happens to glasses or mirrors, you can use some "fine" steel wool. The markings can be a bit difficult to remove, but CAN be removed.
Non porous rubber moldings can be cleaned with rubbing compound (heavy duty or fine cut can do the job).

Don't use a brillo pad, whatever you do. I tried that, and scratched up my windshield. I had to wax the heck out of it after to kind of cover them up.

Use vinagar and water 50/50. It will take off just about anything. It is what's recommended for tint also, if you happen to have some on your windows. Use two towels, one with vinagar and water soaked, and one to dry. works great.

Yup, brillo is too rough and can stratch the glass.
I've tried to "fix" some scratched windows before, and even though the scratches were very light, I could not remove them 100%. Actually, just made them look less visible.

the brillo pad worked great on my car. It even got rid of the overspray from when I got my back bumper painted. You just have to be careful with it.
Edit: edited for a tpyo

If there are just a few spots, you could use a razor and some windex. That works well. I removed all of my tint by those means. It doesn't scratch all too easy either.

Thanks guys, I'm gonna try the vinegar and water mix and newspaper. I heard that newspaper is good for cleaning glass also.

yes, newspaper will streak less then terry cloth, don't use brillo sos or steel wool i did and it scratched it even more(soft glass) also chek the maguires site for more info on your cars windshield thats where i got my info from their forums. but hey vinegart is an acid so it breaks up the spots. Try to keep all of the cleaners away from the rubber and paint just to be safe!

what kind of vinegar do you use? sushi vinegar?? haha iono. i've been using invisible glass with newspaper it works alright, but i can still see a whole lot of waterspots. also how do i get waterspots off of my car body paint? i tried polishing it with liquid glass, but it takes a long time to polish the WHOLE car. just started on my hood took about 30 minutes.

i got two products that i use that removes waterspots from glass pretty good. but i use just one of the two since it gives me better results. once you get the waterspots removed, be sure to use some kind of glass/chrome polish to help prevent waterspots from reappearing.

check out store.yahoo.com/autopia/how-to.html for some helpful detailing tips.
