keep or sell my 95 Civic
My wife and i are both Civic owners since 98 when she bought a 95 two door ex and i've been driving it the last 3 years. The car just had it's smog and made it even thought i've not even changed the oil in two years. The 95 has 220,000 miles on it and it's never broken down on us
and looks a little sad inside and out.
Should i keep the 95 and tidy it up inside and out, never broken down, or look for a 95 in better condition and with lower miles, I dig the two door 95s the most.
By the way old Vespa scooters are our thing and at 43 i should know more about cars, at least
Civic's as we have two. Where can i look online to get clued up on the motors in our 95 and 2000
and what Manual should i buy so i can wrench a little.

well, welcome. You should probably change that oil. But this site is a good one for info. Just be prepared to read alot, and use the search function at the top of the screen. Helms manual is an excellent one to use. Dont listen to the people that are rude. Just make sure to ask questions that make sense and read the rules at the top of the forum.
And as for if you should sell your car: That is up to you. My take on it is if you dont work on cars much, you might be better off selling it and getting the coupe that you like so much. I would normally say to buy a swap for it and fix it up, but maybe that would be better for someone else. good luck

Yeah you might want to keep it after the oil has been changed lol. But if it were me. . i'd keep it. Personally i just wouldn't go get something new unless the one i had wasn't working properly any more. Thats just me though, If it lasted that long without an oil change then im sure it will last a while longer after it receives regular maintanence.
I kinda feel bad not spending any money on my Civic in the last two years and not even doing oil changes. The car is stock and i'm thinking i'll keep it as it runs as good now with 220000 miles as it did with 60000 miles on it.
I have been wrenching on 200cc Vespa Motorscooters for 26 yrs and do rides from LA to San Francisco, PARTY the weekend and ride home. Took my car test in 2000 when kids popped outa the wife. I will just keep my 95 and put some money into making it look nice again and do a few
upgrades.
thanks for the help and i will study this website, ask questions when i need help and will try and not **** off the experts.

i agree, keep the civic. With gas gettin the way it is, those cars don't burn gas at all. just get some maintenance done, like oil changes, spark plugs, fluids, and she'll last you til 300,000 miles, and still have great gas mileage. don't be 2 tough on her, being that she has some age and has taken some abuse(2 years w/o an oil change, that's like starving her). But like the other guys said, it's your choice, just be happy with it,
Thanks to everyone for being so nice, i should get dragged down a dark alley by Civic lovers for a good beating for neglecting my Honda. I started on fixing her up today with the purchase of a glovebox latch. I need a new carpet kit and headliner thanks to the kids, the factory seats need recovered or replaced with less abused ones. The outside needs a new driver side fender and the metal bumper behind the bumper cover and fresh paint for the whole car. The big issue will be the cost in removing all the little dings and fresh paint.
Before i start i'd better get the car in for a service.
