TypeR Converted To Obd1 Starting Problem
hows it going... i have an issue. i installed an obd2 (obviously) type r motor in my 94 (obd1)del sol. i converted it to obd1. i got an obd1 dohc vtec distributor, obd1 integra alternator, i got an obd1 wiring harness, everything is plugged in... distributor is installed correctly as well as spark plugs and wires for sure.. so i go to start it and it cranks and gets some spark but it just wont start. it attempts to start and then it just dies on me. it maybe runs for like a second or two and then it just dies... i have a single vtec ecu in there, and there should be no check engine light but it's still dying... maybe there are some plugs put on wrong, im not really sure which ones to check! can someone please help me out...?!?! thx.

Check the FAQ thread in this forum for a refresher on checking your engine light.
When you have your diagnostics plug jumped...
Long, slow blink=10
short, fast blink=1
Jump the plug and start it up, see what, if any code you are throwing. This will be of great help...if in fact you are throwing a code.
Check that your map sensor, and tps sensor plugs are not mixed up like somebody has mentioned already.
Also check that your timing is dead on.

lol yeah he does, he needs a job, but hes a good person to have around when doing a swap. but stick to the topic... now my motor starts, and idles just fine, but when i give it gas... or anything over a quarter throttle the car wants to die out. its like it cuts fuel or something. and it wont go over 3200 rpms or it wants to cut out. its weird. before it wouldnt start, and i had the wrong plug on the map sensor. now its cool but it wont pick up rpms... pls help.

swap a stock (any) ecu in, see if that changes it. make sure your dizzy plugs are good and tight. if everything else checks out i would then swap a known good dizzy on.
