polyurethane motor mounts
I am trying to decide if i should get polyurethane motor mounts. I have heard they are good for shifting at high torque. I also heard that it makes you car ride hard and shake at high speeds. If anyone has any experience or knows anything let me know.
I have Energy Suspension's motor mount inserts. They stiffen up the engine so there is a minimal amount of engine movement during acceleration. The inserts also helped eliminate extreme wheel hop.
The only bad thing is that with the stiffer mounts, engine vibration is felt inside the passenger cabin. It's annoying at first, but you'll get used to it.
Plus, when you rev the engine you'll feel the engine's vibration through your seats. A very "cool" feeling....you can "feel" the power of your engine. Passengers will also be very impressed.

I have the mounts installed as well, front and rear. It works great, you can also see how good they work, when you rev your engine in neutral, w/ the mounts your engine stays solid and doesnt move like when compared to before you can see it torque back and forth while reving w/ stock mounts. As for the vibrating, churchboyracer is def right you will get used to it.
Just a hint for you looking to save some money and get better motor mounts:
I took all 4 mounts to a shop that does polyurethane work. They mask off one side of the mount and fill the holes up with a urethane product of your choice (i.e. there are many different stiffnesses of urethane). The problem is they are permanent. If it turns out they are too stiff, then pull them out and drill a few holes in them. All 4 mounts cost me $80 canadian (and they are way stiffer than anything energy suspension, etc. could ever offer without replacing the entire mount).

Do you mean that you just inject the urethane into oem mounts? ?? ???

Windshield urethane. You can pick it up at just about any hardware store, and yes, it does work!

Crap. Overboost had a nice article on this, but now they've made it private.
Like everyone said, you just need to pull the motor mount, fill it with the urethane and let it dry before remounting.
I wish that article was still available, it was a good step by step.
