Default JDM vs USDM pistons

I did a search and I couldn't find anything about it so here's my question.

How do the JDM Type S Pistons differ from the USDM Type SH pistons? If so, would I benifit from switching to the Type S pistons and would I need to do other parts to make the pistons work like rods etc etc
