Question about 96-00 Civic Ex Tranny....

Default Question about 96-00 Civic Ex Tranny....

Friend of mine needs a new tranny...Its a 98 Civic EX Automatic...Do I need a 96-98 tranny or can I use a 99-00 trans?...Also does it have to be an EX or could it be off an LX DX etc?...Thanks

yes you can use a 99-00

you will want it to be an ex tranny because the gearing is different from the lx, dx transmissions. But, I am not sure if it HAS to be the same tranny., I know that manual D tranny's will all bolt up irregardless of the motor.
