JDM cluster wiring question on the water temp gauge
I have a question for you guys, i converted my 89 crx si to a jdm cluster (i followed two seperate diagrams while doing it) and everything works great except the water temp gauge, as soon as i turn the ignition to on the gauge goes all the way to the top. I did the cluster conversion at the same time that i had done my b16 swap. do you think i have the wrong wire hooked up behind the harness i have yellow/green to yellow/green, or do i have the actuall plug at the motor pluged into the wrong sensor. What should the temp gauge wire be readding behind the cluster, ground, resistence or voltage??? If it is voltage like i think how many volts should it be with the car being just started, and how many when it warms up. Hope you guys have some answeres for me, thanx.
it could very well be that the gauge has a broken wire or the screws in the back of the cluster aren't tight. If this cluster is from the same year, and your temp gauge worked then try swapping them out. Be careful when removing the needle, pry it off gently, install on new cluster. If your old one worked and you are careful, you will be able to make it work in the JDM cluster. Good luck, hope this helps!
