No special tools needed, except a screw type puller to separate the arm from the joint. "Love-Taps" work, since you're replacing it you won't have to worry about the old joint's threads. The lower arm ball joint comes on a bracket, held on by 2 bolts.

You need #4.

u could smash it with a hammer or u could get the right tool, an auto fork that u wedge in then hit with a hammer to seperate the parts.

Also helps to use a big hammer for those extra stubborn ball joints.

Never use a fork unless you don't care about trashing the boot.

iam7head: Check the condition of the joints first before buying new ones and replacing them. You might be able to get away with buying new boots and regreasing the joints, a common mechanical service.

haha,

get a big hammer since your replacing them anyways,

i made a full aluminum hammer for these types of jobs, the aluminum is softer than steel so doesn't really damage other parts, the hammer slowly is getting dinged/dented up

</TD></TR></TABLE> ive always used forks and never damaged a boot, theyre easy to squeeze together, the fork pops them right out, so borrow one from a friend, or use a hammer, and risk bending and crushing, but if u know what ur doing u could probobly just use a plastic fork and duct tape.

plus when u hit the fork on the ground it makes a much cooler noise than a hammer
