Default f23a1 swap into a 95 civic ex

ive got a f23a1 motor swapped into my 95 civic..
its running on a p30 ecu.. and a 94 f22 dizzy..

now my question is that the car only runs well when the timing is advanced.. yes this head was taken off and timing had to be done again..

the problem is when i rev the car it will no go past 4k.. like it has no power to go any further.. even when driving it has the this symptom..

ive messed with the timing belt.. ive moving the belt a tooth of both ways to check if the timing was write.. and it seems to run the best in this spot its at now..

also the car will no idle on its own when the timing is retarted.. and only runs well with my obd1 345cc prelude injectors..

thanks guys.. this thing is weird i need help

i think the problem with your set up is in your p30 ecu....u need to go with obd2 original ecu for your engine to run well, otherwise yor vtec is not going to activate, hence the motor wont rev past 4000...

what will it take for you to swap it to the accord ecu?

just because vtec doesnt work, doesnt mean you cant go past 4000 rpms

im not sure what the p30 ecu originally came off of, but you need the ecu that is made for that engine of course.

mabey try the f23a1 dizzy instead of the f22?

throwing any CEL?s

the f23a1 dizzy is a obd 2 dizzy this is a obd 1 motor.. ive seen lots of threads and they said to run a f22 dizzy.. which i am doing.. maybe i put the dam thing on backwards? lol

idc if vtec works at this point.. i just want the car to climb over 4k

p30 ecu is from a obd 1 b16

my codes are
14 iacv
