Dead travel on accelerator pedal
Searched, but couldn't find the answer. Apoligies if this has already been covered.
'96 Civic CX. The accelerator pedal is quite floppy. I have about an inch or two of dead travel, where I feel no resistance from the pedal, and no acceleration. It's not a huge problem, but I'd like to know if this is possible to fix at home or if it needs to be taken to a shop. Thanks in advance.

check cable to throttle body. thats where its going. if its tight and ok, then you got a pedal problem... stick your head under your car with a nice light and see whats up.
