Need a little help on a MSD install.....
Has anyone put a MSD 6AL with a blaster coil and power cap on a Type R motor or b-series for that matter??
is there any way to do it with out goin into the distributor??
Ive hooke up the main power and negative wires to the battery and the orange and black to the blaster coil... the other 2 wires(red and black) i havent installed, and they need to go into the distributor....
i put a test light to the blaster coil and there was no power?? is that normal?
is there any other wires besides those 6 that need to be wired to anything??

I put an MSD SCI ignition on my LS/vtec. You do have to take off the distributor and open it up, take out the stock coil and solder in those 2 wires to the external coil. Its not as hard as it sounds. I dont think the test light will come on if the ignition isnt on

 

not be be a dick but you are wasting your money with msd stuff. oem ignition is tough to beat on a honda as far as power goes.

 

ok.... i hooked up the 2 thick wires from the ignition box to the battery and ground, the orange and black to the blaster coil, and white and red into the distributor.... The car wont start!!!
im using a MSD 6AL not sure if i need one, but i have a RPM pill in it... is there any other wires besides those 6 that need to be wired??

figured it out... i conected the red wire going into the dizzy to the ignitor, and disconected the power source to it.... re conected it, and wired that same wire to the red wire....
works fine!!
