Don't be ridiculous, he was probably taking pictures of all the nice cars at the event, especially if he was driving an S2K. You're being overly protective.

I agree, anyone can get your plate number. If you want the plate number protected so much then you shouldn't drive the car cause any bum behind you can just write it down. Anytime I'm at an event or even just out in general if I see a nice car I'll grab a pic of it. But I also always edit out plates in all the pics I take.

If you go to an autocross or a road course, you're free game in terms of photographs.
he could have just as easliy written down your plate. Come on.

id be paranoid as a R owner even if he drove a s2k.
thats the same as taking a pic of the vin on the dash even if he did own a s2k.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Holy crap would you stop being so dramatic, if you drive along any city road at rush hour, 10,000 people could write down your licence plate if they wanted..so what are you going to do, keep your car in a garage for its life and maybe take it out in the dead of night when no one is about that can see your licence plate

well maybe he liked your car, snapped a pic, saw you walking over and thought it would be kinda akward to talk to you about taking that picture, so he left.
the typical s2k owner isn't usually one to steal cars, though. lol

You beat his ***. A lot of info can be had from your plate. We're from NY and you can't be careful enough, his intentions were prolly innocent but you should tape your plate up in the future.

I would have ran up to him and demanded him to pay me for the picture....its a Type R y0....that pic is worth at least 100 bucks.
What good is taping the plates going to do? If your going to be that paranoid, take the damn plates off
I'm always taking pictures at auto-x's. If the car is parked, I ask the owner if I can have permission to do so. It's a common cortousey.

Did he see you and run to his car or just got in and left calmly? Maybe he didn't see you. Did it look suspicious?

you have to look at the situation IN CONTEXT. from your story, i'd be willing to bet the guy had good intentions. now, put the same guy and situation in say, a dark badly lit alley or parking lot, then maybe your suspicion might have substance.
personally i wouldnt worry about it. just be as vigilant as i'm hoping every R owner should be with their car.

I can't believe some people are that paranoid.

Your car is probably safe, sleep well tonight
