Well,
I finally completed my setup, added a JDM 4-1, a HJS racecat and an Idol-Motorsports stainless steel exhaust (b-pipe and muffler). This exhaust is made for racing use (group A) and known for making power.
For my peace of mind I took out the Crower 63402`s and threw in the JUN2 cams.
From watching the specs of both cams they should turn out the same in my eyes, so for the period of breaking in the JUN`s, I let the power fc run with the settings I`ve used with the crowers.
The first thing I`ve noticed was the deep noise like a thunder from a distance that was coming from under the seat..
(no, it wasn`t me farting
).
The engine runs fine and there`s no lack in the powerband as far as I`ve tested.
But:
Now, after 600km of breaking in, I let her rev to 6500-7000 for a few seconds but now I am sure: My R has lost a lot of power compared to my last setup which was a pair of the crowers, a dc sports 421 and stock exhaust. Only noise.. that hard pull in midrange is gone. If I floor the pedal at 140km in 5th there`s only noise but revs climb damn slowly. I wonder what has happened. The loss of power is too big to fix it with f/a fine tuning or turning the cg some degrees... And the exhaust is definitly not responsible... It is custom made for the b18c.
So I`m looking for some ideas that may help. thankyou.
But note that I`m aready running higher compression (Euro R) and I won`t dyno it until the cams are broken in (1000km).

I do believe you can gain a lot with tuning. Especially with these mods. But you will need a dyno for the better work!!!

I know how the car ran with stock ecu and cg at zero with the crowers and how it ran after full tuning... well, yes, there was a difference, but not THAT huge like I need now.
did you check to make sure they were real JUN 2's. maybe the person who sold them to you ripped you off.
Sven - - - after tunning your everything you will feel the differance. right now with changing the header and cams your A/F is so off the car is probely no better than stock. just take them to a dyno and compare graphs

I sold him the cams. lol
so let this *** beating begin. lol
You have to tune them Sven ..... the Power FC is going to make a big difference from just swapping them in. Especially with the better flowing header and exhaust.
Look out Autobahn ...... Sven is coming back soon .....

Hmmm,
okay, I trust your words... tuning....
Then we will see what happens at the end of the week.. A Power FC and AEM camgears should be good tools to bring the best out of the setup. We tuned the crowers so we can tune the JUN`s also.. I wonder what`s possible...
The R ran strong with the crowers, especially in midrange... felt like a 2.0l engine.
Okay, I`ll tell you if #01858 has still got ***** or if it`s just a ***** next week.

Your setup is so far from your old one that I bet you're runnin super rich in some parts of the rpm band and super lean in others.....
You don't need to "break in" the cams - they're a wear item... They broke in enough when you let it idle for the first time...
Get your car on the dyno and tune that ****.
