91 auto DX sedan transmission blown?
I was smelling a burnt type of smell comming from somewhere in my car. I though It was something completely different. My car was running fine until last night when I tried to accelerate past 30mph which was almost impossible.
Going up small hills was a task also. I got my car home though which was a plus. I'm going to assume the tranny is blown.
I'm on a tight budget, even thinking about selling the car if a used tranny cost to much, plus the labor. Whats a price tag on a used d15b2 auto tranny and labor?

It probably would if you go to a dealer or transmission shop and ask them to do it 'by the book'. But let's face it. You could probably find an automatic Civic transmission for free somewhere, as nobody wants them. Or go to a pick-and-pull type wrecking yard and get one for less than $100. Then buy yourself a good manual and install it yourself. It's really not THAT hard. But even if you have to pay someone to do the job for you, chances are the install can be done for $300 or less.
