auto tranny dying? or simple fix? ? HELP
ok im about to get this 91 integ. . guy says it needs a tranny. Ok the car is auto and im going to tell you what he tells me and see if anyone has had this happen to them and maybe know what it could be. im hoping its somethin dumb like fluid or something. ok. . .
he says the tranny has no reverse?, yet drives but will sometimes "pop" into nuetral while in drive. . he says it should make the trip home from his place ( 25 miles) any body have some advice or maybe a auto cable trans for sale lol

don't buy the car... or get another tranny....
that one is 13 years old and it doesn't sound like it will make the 25 mile trip back to your house...

i have faith in it. . . he made it sound like it was reliable enough to make it. . . plus it only pops into nuetral sometimes i guess. . . . i already found a tranny for it for 100 bucks. . plus im not paying much for the car at all.

check the fluid, when auto trannies are out of fluid they will just act like they are in nuetral. i have also had really good experience with B&M trickshift fluid in auto trannies that are fucked up. it should make the 25 miles trip. just swap it out when you get home

dude, please dont buy the car. I had an auto integra and i hated it so much that i did an auto to manual conversion. Manual is soooo much better. I was even talking to this transmission shop and they said that most auto honda transmission suck real bad and they always break. But this is just my opinion. good luck.

just got home heheh it made the trip without a problem, no slipping no nothing. . . reverse doesnt work, it just makes a VRRRRRRRRRRRRR sound while its in "R" other than that tho it was fine, i did baby it so im sure if i romped on it it may have slipped, didnt wanna chance it tho. So im gonna try that B&M stuff maybe and see what happens. Not bad for $400 bucks heheh

wow i just asked the guy how long its been like this and he said a month
and i ask: did u try changing the tranny fluid? NO.
sooooooooo it might be a easy fix i got my fingers crossed.
