anyone have a picture of how the shift linkage should mount up to the tranny? i got the bitch pin squared away but the part where the shift rod with the bushing should mount seems like it has gone missing any ideas?

its not terribly confusing, perhaps you are trying to route the stabilizer rod in the wrong orientation. The bolt secures the rod through a bushing directly to the transmission.
