Sports.

The S360 and S500 were both marketed as the "Sports 360" and "Sports 500". When Honda continued to carry over the name for the S600 and S800 and finally the S2000 they dropped the Sports and just made it the shorter model name of Sxxxx.

Not sure why the other topic was locked.

Actually you said Sport. It's Sports, with an s at the end.

I just figured I'd post the correct one so the OP knew the answer.

No it doesn't stand for special.

It's not even special, not a special edition or anything, it's simply a new version of a car that was produced in the 60s. Honda likes heritage and it was named for that heritage.

Not really, however a or or something to express it is helpful over the internet as text by itself isn't the most expressive for such things.

the 2000 is the engine diplacement size of the AP1(even though I'm sure it isn't exactly 2000) The S is for Shizzle2000

I figured the comment "At least I think so" was obvious enough.

Next time, I'll add a smiley just for you.
