Default b20v possibility??

right now i'm working with the b20b, but it's not as great as it used to be when i had the b20 in my ek. I was thinkin about vtec but i just wanted some opinions. The car is daily driven and I really don't want this to brake down on me. If I dont punch it much, the vtec head should be fine right?? Maybe even last for a few more years??

Keep it at the stock redline, and it should work fine, That being below 7k for the block.

Right now I have a b20 with a gsr tranny. Can you explain what advantages of changing pistons would do? I'm not really into getting my car all crazy fast, just need a lil more ummphh if you know what I mean.

The compression on ur B20 is like 8.8 or close to that which is why you have good torque. If you add pistons you raise the compression of the motor which in turn increases power. If you build a B20 Vtec reinforce the block and you will be fine. Remember that you motor will last as long as it is built right and it is maintained properly as with any motor.

And on and on.. if you don't go Revving an ls/vtec to the sky, you don't have to go overboard with Building the block.

Arp rodbolts, and headstuds would probably be Fine for something you keep under 7k,
Even without those parts I'm sure you would still be fine running it with the b20 redline.

If you seriously want to add more power though, Save your money, Sleeve the block, and just boost it.
Or try getting an Ls engine and go with some low boost on stock internals, you can make 250s on a stock block with a good tune.

Yeah, I think I'll just stick with a stock vtec head. Just need that extra lil ummphh that i'm missing compared to my b20 ek from before. Thanks guys

low compression is not why his motor has torque, relatively speaking...more displacement is why he has more torque than your b16
