Default 99 b16a2 into a 97 civic wiring nightmare (please help)

the main problem im having is the si wire harness only has 2 plugs (B,C)for the ecu. because the first(A) ecu plug is a part of the car on a si. so what would be the easiest way about doing this. i want to get this bitch b.a.r. legal.

1. get a 99 ex wire harness and adapt it to the b-series
2. wire the A plug into the car
3. get all the wiring from the si
4. shoot myslef in the head
5. shoot the guy i bought the motor from
6. fu*k it

I am having the same problem, and that is the 99-00 SI harness has two parts the interior and extrior harness. So if when you got the harness for the engine you did not get the one for the interior it is almost impossible to make the engine work with all your stuff. The simplest fix, what I did, was get a harness that matches the model that you need. So if you have a 97 then you need to get a 97 harness and adapt it to work with VTEC.

Yeah, if you get an EX harness it will work right. Just get rid of the SI harness, or sell it on EBAY, then you will be able to use the B16 ECU. That is what I am using for my swap, until I can save up and get AEM EMS.

If you have a 96-98 ek, then you need an 96-98 EX harness and 96-98 ECU. If you have a 99-00 Ek then you need a 99-00 Si/ EX harness and 99-00 ECU. This is if you want all the Vtec stuff there.

You can reuse yoru CX/ DX harness and add what you need as well.

All the info you need on the swap is just a click away, check my sig.
