215 or 205 with eibachs?
I will hopefully be placing an order on monday for a set of 16" rota grids and tires so I need to double check this: Will a 215/45/16 tire rub on my 2000 gs with eibach prokit springs and illumina shocks (1.3" drop)? Stock wheel is +45 offset, new wheel is +40. stock tire is 195/55/15. Wanted to go with a 205/45/16 but the Azenis don't come in that size.
hmm not sure. I dont think so. I have 17x7.5 rims and i run 215/40/17 and they kinda rub when i corner hard. the outer corners rub in the rear. Ihave 205/40/17 in the front.
so with a 215/40/16 it would be smaler than what im running and I have the eibach prokit too.
here is my car.

Beautiful car man, I love the Volk rims too, that's why I'm getting the Rota replicas! Yea from what I'm getting from people, it's going to be close. I think I could probably get away with the 215 Azenis but I might just go with a 205/45/16 tire. Do you have any reccomendations besides the Azenis because they don't run that size?
I have the same suspension setup as you as well as having 16" rota grids. I am running on some Yoko AVS es100's. 205/45/16 never had any issues. Ive herd 215's will rub a little.
is there a reason why wou are considering 215 series? im not trying to be dick or anything, but a lot of people just want wider tires because they think it will make them handle better or give them more traction.

Because I want the Azenis, but they don't make a 205/45/16 tire. (mentioned above)
Thinking now about maybe going with the Hankook rs2. your thoughts?

Rs2s are more for track use. id only get rs2's for the track and not daily
id stick to something a lil more on the cheap side... es100's or azenis. lol.
i have azenis rt615 on my car. i have to admit that i do take crazy turns somtimes. but these tires wont last that long.. i think about 7-10k miles and they are out..
