Default ran my car tonight, dissapointing time slip.

Ran my car tonight at crapital raceway in MD. Due to it being way overcrowded i only got one run in. Here is the timeslip:

R/t .788
60' 2.606
330 6.565
1/8 9.773 mph 77.26
1000 12.502
1/4 14.828 mph 96.8

Car is a 91 dx hatch, full interior.
engine specs:
97' jdm type r bottom end
mugen head gasket
1st gen b16 head
AEBS intake manifold and type R throttle body
Buddy club spec 3+ cams
Omni valvesprings and retainers
ANR compact header
intake/exhaust
j1 cable tranny(non lsd)

yokahama evs 100 tires at 26 psi

Dynoed at 181whp (before the intake manifold, cold air intake and throttle body)running on neptune.

I was hoping to get into the 13's, Do you guys think it is possible?

slicks and a little bit more practice with that motor will get you very close 13's

Seems a bit unusual. Your mph seems low. Our old street stock CRX went 12.90's @ 107 with 184whp weighing around 2200lbs. Make sure your car is running up to par. The reason you're running 14.80's is because of your 2.6 60' ft. If you can't get a hold of a set of slicks or drag radials, at least try running a little bit less tire pressure like 20psi.

yeah i had a really bad launch and spun all of first gear, i think im going to try and get a set of drag radials for next time.

I thought the mph was low too because I ran 14.8 at 93mph with my b16 last year.

I definetly need to practice more, i was hoping to get more than one run in but the track was packed.

I have a JDM ITR, and I ran 14.1@98 mph on snow tires, with a 2.4 60'. The car has a Rage header and a clutch kit, everything else is basically stock, and this was done with the diver's side mount totally gone.

Right there is your problem.... You should be able to pull at least a 2.1 See my sig for comparison. That was a 2.1 60' in a heavier car. 13's shouldn't be a problem. Just practice. I dropped my time by .7 just by practicing, no new mods added. Try adjusting tire pressure too. Good luck.

capital sucked friday. waited two hours for my first pass on my car i went a 15.0 at 99mph. two hours later second pass i went a 14.1 at 100mph. h22 eg w/ bfg g-force street radials. first pass i spun all through first, and damn near all the way through second. -staged around 3.5k my second pass i staged lower 2.5k and eased out the hole, didn't spin as bad in first and second hooked up a lot better. im trying to get some slicks, i would be suprised if i was able to pick up a low 13 with slick and practice. capital isn't the best place in the world the track sucks. since 75/80 everyone came to capital.

Can't really judge the performance of a car with one bad run, just go back and try again on a better day.

practice practice practice. 99% of drag racers are always dissapointed in the times they run. If your car went lets say 7 flat, You will go home lay in bed and say to yourself " I know this car's got 6:99 in it I know it.

I plan on getting drag radials, are bfg's the best? they seem to be the most popular.

I would get slicks but i do not want to break my axles(stock integra axles).

i have heard that drag radials are harder on axles then slicks because it is a harder compound then a soft slick...however i have read that a lot of people are making a lot of power and using stock axles...not breaking them by preloading them at the launch. im picking up some bfg drag radials friday and will be running them at capitol if weather permits ...im going to be trying BFG 215x50x15

your car is not tuned period. my friends car with a B16 and bolt ons runs faster traps than that.

well it was tuned perfectly by jeff evans, then i upgraded to type R throttle body, aebs manifold, and cold air intake. previously i had obd0 b16 tb/manifold and a cheap short ram.

so maybe thats why its trapping low.

thats odd, evens is a good tuner. i dunno what to tell you man, traps are low though. i ran mid 14s in a 99 EX with GSR motor, DC 4-2-1 header, intake and ITR cams.

If your were running on radials i would think you could atleast get a 2.0 60'. That would net you closer to 13's. Work your your 60's and launching and you will get where you want to be.

my best was a 14.1 at 100mph on 205x50x15 bfg street radials. I put on some 225x50x15 bfg drag radials and went 13.89 @ 99.7 mph the first pass...that was with not being able to really do a burn out because of emergency brake issues. my 60' went from a 2.2 to a 2.0.
