Type R intake on a SOHC engine
Would a OEM Type R complete air intake fit on my 97 del sol SOHC Vtec engine?
If the intake will fit, would there be any benefits to installing it?

air intake, you mean using the stock integra type R air intake on the Dseries motor. first the TB is bigger on the R so it wont go right on, secondly, there would be almost no advantages to doing so. sure if you got one sitting there and need something to fit use it, but dont waste money on it.

All he needs is a hose clamp that will camp the tube to the TB. I've go the arm on my SOHC and it fits fine. The ITR box itself along with the filter flows better than the stock SOHC box too FYI.

of coarse it flows more, but the stock one flows plenty well enough for almost any SOHC. it an upgrade obviously, but not worth spending money on unless its for the "i got gsr parts on my car" factor.

Yeah, and for a couple $ more, a CAI has even better flow :-P

I was looking for an intake that would boost performance without the loud noise under the hood. I wanted something that didn't cost a fortune either.
I purchased a MemoryFab Carbon Fiber intake and it was not only loud but resonated at certain rpms. It sucked and the weird thing was I had one on my hatchback with a sohc non vtec and it sounded great.
I saw a ITR OEM intake for sale for a little over $100 and thought it might do the job.
Will the lower piping/res. of the ITR intake fit on my del sol?
