Default Just picked up a 95 Prelude have a couple ??????

I just picked up an automatic prelude for 500 bucks. Its in good condition but has 139k miles on her. I wanted to know if theres any problems or anything in particular i should watch out for. Also the motor code is h23a1, how much hp is this? I know its not vtec but still curious. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

haha, $500 sounds like a steal assuming nothing mechanical is wrong with it.
i would just keep an eye on your oil, cuz 'ludes are kinda known for eating up oil.

other than that, H23's are 160 hp and like 158 lb-ft.

good luck

Holy crap! Interested to see what kind of condition it's in. (*cough* pics *cough*)

The H23 shouldn't eat the oil - that's mainly the vtec ludes. I would say just make sure the timing belt (& water pump) have been changed and the usual plugs, wires, etc...

heh dont have a camera...i know i must be the only one.:D The condition is left drivers side fender banged in and drivers side corner headlight cover broken. 141,200, auto, attenna makes a squeal at the very end of extending, and drivers side brake light has a ground problem (keeps coming on and off). thats about it like i said if i knew then what i know now...kbb rated it at $6500 perfect condition. i refuse to live in the past, just learn from our mistakes and use that knowlage to prevent future mistakes.

boostedmotorex: why do you name yourself after a company that specifically imports skylines? we all love them but this is a honda forum jk bro

No man just someone who bought a used M5 and got sick of drivin theri prelude. I honestly saw this car standing in one spot on their driveway for 3 months, I changed the oils, cleaned it up, washed and waxed it and its an awesome car for me now
