Del Sol eg tuning for abusive driver
I have begun the tremendous task of prepping a del sol s for non strait track use.
I have decided to paint the whip black before i throw some tein ss and suspension tech bars underneath... I was told energy suspension bushings will be a must if i decide to do things right. What kind of time am i looking at to press all those off and back on again?? #1
What kind of beefy brake kit for the front will beat my current
stock caliper/ hawk pads/ cadium EBC rotor setup/stainless lines
without braking the bank
1500$ #2
The real question is...
After installing and fabbing in tower bars front/back:: sway bars F/B
tein ss 1.5f 2.0b drop/em pilar bar/welding the roof on/structural steel under fenders/subframe steel floor plates... what else can be done to stiffen this chassis for abusive driving?
does some jap company make an x brace or something for the EG #3
too many more questions to ask

energy suspension bushes without a hydrolic press (just a manual one) took me and the mech just shy of 15 hours in his garage on ramps (thats EVERY bush on the car!) with a hydrolic press we could have done it sub 11 i reacon. (just buy one- use it then sell it onwards
)
that included the poly engine mount inserts. tbh if the car is not a daily driver one thing i wish i did before hand was get the chassis arms all sand blasted and powder coated red or black
brakes i cant help as here in the uk we got the esi (d16) and vti (b16) models so im not 100% sure what a s model is/has etc
rarther then try to stregnthen the chassis by welding all these fancey plates to it would it not be easyer to have a full roll cage made up bracing the front shock towers through to the rear shock towers? as far as i know no one makes an underbrace that runs the entire legnth of the car (like the funky brace the s2000 comes with as std that runs to all 4 wheels)
personaly i would look up tracksol on http://www.hondavision.com ,teamsol have their main forums there and i recently started a chassis thread which covers anti roll bar tech and braces etc.
cheers

Thanks for the insight... i'm not looking forward to doing the bushing; but once its done I can slowly start tuning the suspension
Plus i hope the use of a lift and shop tools will aid in speeding things up
Trim lvls :: the S is the shitty 1.5sohc (d15b7) they call an engine... im surprised i havent blown more headgaskets or thrown a rod by now. I think a b16' will last me until i learn to drive it hard.
I'll live in the moment until then

dont get me wrong its a pig of a job to do. but once its done you will really appriciate it! kills the body roll, stiffens up the entire car and the feed back is great!
just read the instructions carefully and grease generously what it tells you to grease

If the Energy haters see this they'll tell you to "use stock or Mooooogen" esp. for the rear LCA's. Search for Energy and get all the story.
I did the complete Master Kit like the Brit, with the exception of the engine mounts. Mine haven't started to deterioriate like some say either, just checked them. My hatch performs death-defying moves on the superhighways, lol.
Get the black graphite-impregnated ones from here..
http://www.suspension.com/civic.htm
they really work and haven't squeaked in over a year since install.
Best prices, fast shipping.
p.s. My nephew is lurking in the UK. Cheers right back!

cool dude.. thanks
painting has become the tedious task for this month
I'll get to the bushings when I have the time
I think ill spend less time prepping for paint than pulling/pushing bushings!!
