my hatch has the same noise, sounds like a bad cv joint in the rear, i am leaning towards the back glass flexing on turns, but who knows.

umm i think he meant it sounds SIMILAR to having a bad CV joint, only the sound is coming from the rear of the car, not that he is having problems with an actual CV joint in the rear.

you dont think i know that seeing as how i am ASE certified master tech and all. i was describing the noise, not possible problem. im almost certain the noise is the hatch glass flexing.

jack it up and spin the wheels, if it fells rough then its a bad bearing.

put the car on the ground, loosen the rear lca bolts you tightened while it was on jackstands, and torque them to spec.

I have the same thing on my 96 coupe. I believe its the shock bushing on the lca(the first picture). This is my hunch because when I replaced my trailing arm bushings it didnt go away. Right after I replaced the T/A bushings i tried spraying lube on the shock bushings and it went away for like a week and then came back and mine look like yours and are cracked on the bottom.

BTW: Mine sounds like a creeking noise coming from the back when I pull into driveways.

mine does it on left turns, but i dont think im getting the same problem as you all. mine is very very hard to hear, almost cant hear it at all, and im almost certain its just the body or glass flexing.
