Default vtech

I have been told that mid to old age civics (in my case a 93 EX coupe - D16z6) do in fact have v-tech without any statement within the owners manuel or anywhere on the car. The only visual way I know of (aside from the flashy stickers and actually driving the vehicle) is the selenoid between the valve cover and the intake. Could I be wrong? Or is there any other way to find out?

This is a vtec solenoid, and where its located is the left side of the cylinder head, when looking in the bay.

I understand that most motors say that. I was just commenting on a rumor I heard that some of them don't.
