Default STOLEN....BUT FOUND!

hey everyone, i havn't been very active on the forum as much as i should be. you all have helped me when i had problems or questions...but now, it has all come to a crashing end.

my 97 cw itr was stolen last wed april 19th. it was recovered yest which was the 26th. all i heard from chp so far is that it was strpped (no ****), but they couldn't tell me how bad it was. so now i have to sit and wait to hear from the insurance company on how bad the damage is.

my new question to you guys, is...if it is a total loss, which i hope it isn't...

what should i get next? i was thinking another dc2, but i dont want another type r, and anything besides a type r...just won't be...well, a type r. haha. so i was thinking about starting a new project, perhaps an eg, or ek? what do you guys think...

im kinda thinking....i wanna get a gsr, and keep is as stock as possible for as long as possible, and save up and do it all at once...like jdm front, etc....

so the final question is...

"if you were in my situation, what would you do?"

thanks guys

It's going to be a total loss if it was stripped. The theft of the engine alone would make it a total loss. It's determined by the monetary amount of the part(s) that need to be replaced + the labor to install them. Once that figure is made, if that figure is higher then a certain percentage of the cars value, the insurance company will total it.

I'd buy it off the insurance company and rebuild it.

I would get a car that is not stolen as often... I'm gonna get reamed for saying this in the ITR forum. I got the lube ready, bring it on.

nothing really wrong with that comment. i am an R owner and i love my R, but i wouldn't recommend buying it again if it was stolen the first time. it's just too much stress worrying about it all the time. now go put your lube back in your cabinet.

lol...

I'm gonna get some sleep.

Speaking of stolen cars though... what do you guys think about those alarms that page your remote you to tell you if your alarm is going off, and if so, where your car was triggered?

depending how much money they give you have you for insurance have you thought about going k20? I mean some say its overrated...but people say that about itr's too...It would just be something that is a little more rare and not a lot of people have gone k20 yet so it would stand out like an itr. good luck on whatever you decide

If it was stollen from your house, theives already know where you live, and will most likely target you again.

You can also consider an S2000, TSX, or something of that sort.

Hope everything goes well with insurance, and sorry to hear about the theft

not that. If you're going to make yourself a target with such a drastic aesthetic as the jdm front you'd might as well start with an r.

You should buy another R. Fix it up really clean. Park it at the same location. Learn how to snipe really well. Sit back and wait with some friends for the bastards, then BAM! Revenge is a bitch!

Sometimes its your friend's friends that do this type of crime. Be careful.

Buy it back and rebuild it. I know S2000 or Eg EK is good, but I don't think anything is more fun to rebuilding a Integra DC2 Type R Chassis, especially hard to find Championship White. I had 4 integras which got stolen 3 times and I Still love to rebuilding them, many parts , many fun , the best FF ever on the planet. ( BY THE WAY to all the fxxking thieves : come on never scare you fymfkr*^%$#@!!@!! ) I won't let go a real type r , I love being a real type r family.

Add me to this list. Lots of places I don't go anymore because of the risk of theft. I love the R, but it's going to be a one-time experience for me. I think my next vehicle will be an American made pickup truck. And not some wussy 4-cylinder either.

this is what i would do. its a 97 you should buy it back. itr's are getting harder and harder to come by, and it being a 97 thats the rarest R imo

thanks for the posts guy, but as you have said before....I have farmers insurance, u can't buy back from them. I checked out the car, and it isn't bad, I mean, its gonne be close to whether they fix or total loss it.

its missing:
ecu, intake, valve cover, cluster, clock, whole rear interior, so yes the seats r gone, rear bumper for some reason is gone, spoiler is gone, and some exterior damage, and no more lip, also my car is a lot lower, and I checked into it, my full koni coil overs were swapped (along with my lca's) for gsr lcas and ground controls.

it was stolen from crestview bowling alley (for u 916 people) n it was recovered near scandia off hillsdale. I have a meeting with my insurance adjuster monday to see wusup.

also! another question, I was under the impression that if the motor is tampered with, its an auto total loss?
