Well you got me... but your compression is even accross the cylinders.. either it means they're all fine, or they're all leakin a bit.

yeah the evenessis good, but if anything is over 5 percent on the leakdown test when at operating temp then something isnt right. i dont know why they didnt tear it down like my insurance company requested. tomorrow im going to go there and tell them to just tear it down, becuase, i dont want to be driving two weeks down the road and a rod snap causing me more stress and problems that i need. You think im wrong for me wanting them to go over this carefully.

Those numbers are fine. They aren't too far off and consistency is what counts. Chances are the gauge used is inaccurate or not calibrated.
bwahahahah 10 to 15 percent leakdown in every cylinder, on a 45 k motor and there trying to tell me thats good
talked to my insurance company and they said there going to ge the prraiser out there asap. Calle dup another honda dealer and they told me that 10-15% is way to high. My insurance claims agent, said that they will not put be back in this car if im not okay witht those numbers,
The techt hat did the leakdown test said honda has no standards when it comes to leakdown tests.

was told anything over 40 percent is bad
was told anything over 40 percent is bad
you would think theyd be all over getting a replacement block, so i wont run into further issues, because the techs and service advisor said that it was a possibility that i could drive two weeks from now and a rod could go loose or anything else related to this, and thats what i told my insurance agent and she said if, i dont like wha this honda dealer says, i can take take it elsewhere
well yet another update to the update.
the appraiser came out and the mechanic told him that the numbers were okay however my service advisor presented him the info i gave her stating the leakdown numbers are not good at 10-15 percent in each cylinder on this motor. So the appraier asked the honda advisor to call the honda technical department to find out if those numbers are bad...
should i continue praying that the honda technical department will say those numbers are too high ?

found out from s couple of dealers that 7 percent is the cutoff point for a leakdown test, especially on a car like the s2000
So there's your answer Chubz. Hope the tech doesn't come back and tell you that 15% is ok. At least now you have backup.
i wouldnt drive it man.... do whatever you can to get it up to par. thats def. not something you wanna expletive around with. seems like ur claims adjuster is being super helpful which is always good, when my ******* teg got stolen i was under a 2 month investigation. ****** statefarm lol.
well corporate honda said they have no guidelines as far as leakdown numbers and a tech fromt here said as long as the numbers are in the green zone, its fine.....I faxed over a letter to my appraiser and my insurance adjsuter stating that those numbers arent fine, and listed the potential problem I can incur if theres unseen or unchecked damage internally. I told them I wouldnt feel comfortable or safe driving the car, becuase nothing has been fixed, or bandaided

yeah im going too. My insurance adjsuter told me that regardless of what or what honda doesnt find, theyll decide what they should do.
