what is the fix for the 2000rpm rattle ????
there are a number...all of which i will be trying sometime soon...
on mine, it definantly appears to be caused by nothing more than the frequency of the exhaust gases resonating the piping....

An exhaust should be tuned to the engine. That's why I believe in keeping it stock. Just one cheap muffler made my car feel like the engine was coming apart. I learned my lesson quick, and got a new stock muffler the next time.
I have noticed in my car too that the vibrations at a lower RPM is more prominent than at higher revs. Anyway, is it coming from the muffler section or the midpipe? Do you still have the heat shields installed, it could be those? Tell us what section it is and that'll help more.
Have you checked the heat shields? Jack your car up and listen to where the rattle is. If it is a shield, you will most likely see it, otherwise, listen to where it is coming from and then remove that section and reinstall it.

actually, this occurs on the stock system....just as bad
unfortunatley, you've never owned a 5th gen, so you've never had the pleasure...but its one of the common problems, along with tearing of driver side bolsters on leather seats, failure of the master power window switch causing the windows not to roll back up, failure of the power antenna, failure of ABS due to a $.07 part, etc....

first off chk all the heat shields. also make sure you don't have a middle exh pipe that came apart internally ,,,,,and finally there is a bulletin on this ,94-041, buzz at around 1800-2200 rpm,, there is a kit which includes gaskets, bolts, and nuts for the ( mid pipe ) small pipe right after the frt exh pipe and the cat
