Default Rubbing noise please help

Hey I have a 2000 Civic SiR (EM1)

I am getting a rubbing noise from the rear and it sounds like the passenger rear side. It is only happens at certain times.

There has to be weight in the car. Somebody in the front passenger seat and Back Passenger seat.

It will happen going around Left hand corners but not right hand corners. It also happens on certain bumps going straight but not others.

If I am the only person in the car it does not happen at all.

Car is lowered with TEIN H-Tech Springs. Stock Wheels and Tires.

Has been suggested that is Strut Mount. Not sure but one garage has already looked at it and I also had the Honda dealership look at it. they say nothing is wrong. The mechanic only took it for a drive by himself though.

Any ideas?

How low is the H-Tech drop? Sounds like its just wheels rub. If its a pretty big drop, your wheels are probably rubbing the wheel well. What size wheels came on that stock?

Yeah your tires are rubbing, the more wheight you have in the car the lower the car sits. To prove it take some white powder, and rub it on the inside of the fender. When you hear the noise pull over and see if some is missing.

The stock wheels are 15" with 195-50-15 tires on them (55 is stock). So i cannot see it being that as it never did this before.

car has been lowered since Sept 2004. Supposed to be 1.3 F and 1.0 R by tein specs but I would say it is more like 1.5. Only happens with weight in the car and in left turns.

Was put away this past winter and only started doing this when I brought it out this april.

that is really odd... the H-techs dont even drop that much... i rubbed with s-techs, and i just ended up rolling the fenders.

try removing the rubber trim, then go for a drive to see if it rubs. if it stops, then you wont have to do any rolling.

Try jacking it up, see if anythings hitting it, hmm..only suggestion to really fix it is to raise the car back up.

There appears to be some rub marks on the inside of the rear tires.

Thing is I cannot see where they would rub.

Doesn't make sense as I have had it dropped since Sept 2004 and it never rubbed before so I have to wonder why it has started now.

Only on Left hand turns and with extra weight in the car. I can drive the car around all day by myself and it never rubs.

I could understand if I put 17's on it but these are 15" inch stock wheel size.

Shocks don't affect ride height. Springs do. He's got alot of wieght on that side when it happens; so I'm guessing it's alot of drop. You're probably going to have to raise the car. Those springs give a lot of drop, but are fairly low springrate; which isn't really a good idea, as you have found out.

h-techs drop an inch... they are less than the s-techs. wouldnt a blown shock cause the car to bounce when going over certain roads?

ie: when he turns left, all the weight shifts to the rear right wheel well, if the shock is blown, its just going to be riding on the springs?
