Default Where do you buy your header?

I need a header for my h22 motor, What is my best bet to go with considering money and everything. I'm really not looking to gain mad power or anything I would settle with just stock replacement or anything really. I was looking on ebay and found some for decently cheap, where can I find an oem header? Or the type s header?

for 97-01 motor

Dang it another money consious tuner Lol if your not going to go with teh godlike RMF, SMSP, DTR, Hytech, then I would go with a Megan Racing header. Only about $190 on website and probably less on ebay. Hey for full stainless steel that is at least better than stock you cant go wrong. Suprisingly one post on h-t had a dyno graph of intake, megan header, and exhaust on an otherwise stock motor, that showed 35-40whp increase. I doubt you will get that but tuning is everything... BTW stock header is about $200-$300 new oem replacement, so I would go with the megan.

that you very much for that link, thats exactly something I was looking for!
It says ment for non-sh, I dont have a prelude so im not too sure what that means? Will it fit my 97 h22 motor?

Can anyone shed some more light on the megan racing header? Would it fit my swap in a civic?

Sh is the highest model of the 5th generation preludes. Like the Si for the civic. What type of h22 motor do you have? Check the block, it should be stamped saying any one of the following:
JDM:
H22A
H22A Type S or something of the such would have a red valve cover.
USDM:
H22A1
H22A4
If its a 97 motor its more than likely a h22a4.

Most likely it cant fit on the sh because of the atts unit and or modified suspension im thinking but im not sure. Any pros would like to correct me>?

As to fitment of the header in a civic...I don't have any experience with civics. Might want to post in the civic forum, and hope that anyone with a h22 and a megan header has the clearence specs

check out ebay. they have some decent deals on dc headers. if you want a good header go RMF, but you will be spending a little bit more money, fyi

the motor in the sh was exactly the same
it was the tranny that was different

if you had a stock header on there then the megan header would fit

if you really want to know about fitment in your civic i would check with the civic guys that have done the swap

35 to 40 whp they are crazy! more like 10 I/H/E. Headers and exhaust you notice a little intake barely any. People here sound and get all excited and think they have 20hp out of it, if they believe that they should get the stickers for there cars also they add 10hp too.
