H22 Hasport Mounts in SM
The Hasport mounts for the F/H series to 92-95 civic/del sol chassis require you to remove the existing passenger side engine mount bracket to be replaced with the Hasport metal bracket.
I have the 2006 solo2 rulebook for Street Mod and am still left with a question mark as to whether is is legal. Anyone care to lend any advise?

For reference.
Street Prepared:
15.10.I. Engine mounts may be replaced, but must attach in the factory
location(s) without additional modification or changes. Engine
position may not be changed. The amount of metal in a replacement
mount may not be increased relative to the amount of
metal found in a standard mount for the particular application.
Solid metal mounts are specifically prohibited. Any non-metallic
inserts may be used.
15.10.L. Transmission mounts may be replaced, but must attach in the
factory location(s) without additional modification or changes.
Transmission position may not be changed. The amount of
metal in a replacement mount may not be increased relative to
the amount of metal found in a standard mount for the particular
application. Solid metal mounts are specifically prohibited
Street Modified:
16.1.O. Any minor modification, intended to allow or facilitate any allowed
modification, is permitted as long as it does not provide
any intrinsic performance benefit in and of itself, does not provide
a weight reduction of more than 1 lb, and is not explicitly
prohibited elsewhere within these rules. This rule is intended to
allow minor notching, bending, clearancing, grinding; the drilling
of holes; affixing, relocating, or strengthening of brackets;
removal of small parts, and similar operations performed in
order to facilitate the installation of allowed parts or modifications.
This does not permit extensive modifications to a
subframe or cross-member to lower an engine which would
otherwise not fit in the engine compartment. Competitors are
strongly cautioned to make the minimum amount of modification
required to affix a given part, and to not make unduly tortured
interpretations of this rule. Modifications to the firewall in
order to allow for increased engine setback, and any modification
that changes the location of a suspension pickup point, are
explicitly forbidden.

It's a gray area in the rules. Basically unlimited drivetrain and especially affixing/relocating brackets in 16.1.O 'should' cover it. I'm sorta in the same boat as you:

Finally i didnt bother sending it in to SMAC, cuz i have other plans for the car and cuz i'm lazy...

I read your posts on sccaforum in that thread yesterday when I was researching this. the location of the mount does not change (much) but the type of the mount does change as its now a plate mounted on the frame rail. the position of the engine does change minimally but it also changes marginally between several different B series mount kits.
my interpretation of the rules is that its legal. and i definately does not interfere with the spirit of the class and/or its rules. but its definately a gray area.

Well, the moment you talk about a plate mounted on the frame rail, it doesnt matter whether engine position is changed. What's in question is whether or not affixing (bolting, welding etc.) a new bracket for the mount to bolt-on to is legal. I and a good majority of SM competitors would agree it is. Especially those outside the bolt-on-swap Honda world where such mods to get a swap in are not uncommon.
IMO lowering an engine, setting it back etc. is not illegal AS LONG as you do not modify the crossmembers, firewall etc. to get it done. There are many ways to accomplish this: spacers, slotting bolt holes, offset poly inserts, etc ot all new custom mounts that would still bolt on to stock pick-up points.
