A lot of RSX's had that problem. Mine is a little notchy but nothing horrible. Go on ClubRSX and do a search for SYNCROS there is a PSD file you can download and bring into Acura. Basically it is a recall on the 5 and 6 syncros i believe and they should replace them. I don't believe your tranny will be as smooth as butter but it shouldn't grind.

I just changed my axels and now im having problems when driving and i push my clutch in nothing happens its like i just took my foot off the gas when the rpms should be dropping now car is grinding did not have any problems till i changed my axels if i did not put them in right would it do that PS someone told me to change clutch master cylinder did that and still have problem HELP
Well if your axles were not in far enough than they would make grinding noises even if you rolled the car. Very distinctive.
When you installed the axles did you just push them in place or what?
The easiest way to fix them if they are not in all the way is to take the tire off, blast the 32mm nut off w/ an impact gun. Then get a good grip on the axle from underneath and use it like a slide hammer to bang the axle into the tranny. Even a few millimeters off and the axles aren't in all the way. Is there a gap at all between the tranny?

I just posted this same prob on a other topic.but i have an 04 type s with 9k.i just got it in april from a dealr.when switchn to sec at low rpm i kinda gota force it in.what should i do?other then the 05-06 is there a recall on the older rsx?
If you have a cludrsx account this will answer all of your questions. This is for all people that grind, or think they have any trany or synchro problems.
There was a problem with the transmission but it wasn't severe enough for a recall.

How bad is the grinding? I had a slight grind in my Tranny (Prelude,H22a1) on the 2-3 shift and I switched the tranny fluid to GM syncromesh with friction modifiers, and I haven't had a single grind since
