No transmission is supposed to grind. Ever.

A lot of RSX's had that problem. Mine is a little notchy but nothing horrible. Go on ClubRSX and do a search for SYNCROS there is a PSD file you can download and bring into Acura. Basically it is a recall on the 5 and 6 syncros i believe and they should replace them. I don't believe your tranny will be as smooth as butter but it shouldn't grind.

My '06 type-s grind whenever my ******* friends "race shift" (ie. dont press the clutch to the floor). Ive never had a grind that I didnt anticipate.

Well if your axles were not in far enough than they would make grinding noises even if you rolled the car. Very distinctive.

When you installed the axles did you just push them in place or what?

The easiest way to fix them if they are not in all the way is to take the tire off, blast the 32mm nut off w/ an impact gun. Then get a good grip on the axle from underneath and use it like a slide hammer to bang the axle into the tranny. Even a few millimeters off and the axles aren't in all the way. Is there a gap at all between the tranny?

If you have a cludrsx account this will answer all of your questions. This is for all people that grind, or think they have any trany or synchro problems.
There was a problem with the transmission but it wasn't severe enough for a recall.

How bad is the grinding? I had a slight grind in my Tranny (Prelude,H22a1) on the 2-3 shift and I switched the tranny fluid to GM syncromesh with friction modifiers, and I haven't had a single grind since
