Default Mild b18c5 build. Got questions and need answers.

I've got a b18c5 block sitting in my basement that's completely broken down. Im gonna rebuild it and put my b16 head on it (already has the ITR cams in it). I was thinking about putting in some PCT pistons. Are they a good choice for an all motor mild build? I think I might use some Blox B cams. Will the stock ITR valvetrain work fine with them as long as I don't go over the stock redline? Will there be any valve clearance issues with those pistons and cams? And will it all work just fine with stock ITR rods? I'll be using stock b16 valves by the way. Oh and is there a difference in the P30 pistons and PCT pistons? Thanks a lot for any help you can give me...

Ok...can you at least answer whether or not CTR pistons will work with stock R rods w/ out modification lol...I've tried searching and I can't really find the answers Im looking for.

good question. i had to shave 1mm off each side of my rods to get the ctr pistons to fit. not sure about the itr rods though. btw i love the pistons they make a hell of a difference in my little b16. as long as you clay your motor for piston/valve clearance those pistons shoudl be fine.

Mmk now Im really wondering about P30's though. How much do they raise the c/r in a C5? And I need to know if they fit on stock ITR rods as well. The CTR's are really going to bump it up in a c5 and might be a little harder to tune on pump gas. What do you mean by claying the motor though? thanks for the reply by the way

The p30's are a better choice, they are lighter and raise the compression to like 11.6 with a gsr head. On a b16 head, it's more like 11.3. The pct pistons will put you way up there over 12 somewhere. My suggestion is to get a set of the p30's and make a little more compression with some flat bottom valves if you want

Awesome, thanks a lot for the help. So P30's will raise the compression on a ITR block with a B16 head to around 11.3? That's right around where I want it. Im gonna throw in some cams as well. How are the Blox B cams? and will they work fine with the stock ITR valvetrain?

I need some answers pretty fast so I can start ordering my things. I found some real Honda p30's on eBay for around 210 shipped with wrist pins. Are they a really good choice to go with for a ITR motor? As in, is there a pretty noticable difference over the stock ITR pistons even with an OEM headgasket? And I need to know if the Blox B cams will work fine with the ITR valvetrain. Thanks for the replies so far.

I am almost sure that you need to upgrade your valvetrain to run the Blox B cams.

Mmk I think I've finally decided what Im doing to do but I have 1 or 2 more questions about it. Im just going to use PCT/CTR pistons with the stock rods, ARP rod bolts, a good tune, and use 93 octane gas. Im going to stay with OEM ITR cams and valvetrain right now. There won't be any valve clearance issues will there? and the CTR's work with R rods, right? I think I should get a pretty good gain in power with a 12.7 c/r lol...even with OE ITR cams. All comments are welcome. For all of you who have used the PCT's in your b18c5, how's it feel?
