Default Car shuts off while driving...

Recently when i'm driving around in my prelude, it will just shut off... After i pull over i attempt to start it, it starts runs for split second and then I watch the rpms fall very rapidly to zero.

Not really sure, but was thinking it might be fuel related?

Ignitor can also cause this.

I had this same problem. Turned my car alarm went haywire. But for you I'd say check the main relay, and the ignitor. How long do you have to wait to start your car again b4 it doesn't cut right off?

this happened to my 1st prelude. If its a 97+ it most likely might be your ignition switch. look up the recalls for the 97+ ludes. Honda will fix it for free.

"Campaign Number: 02V120000 Date: 2002-May-16

Component: Electrical System: Ignition: Switch

Defect Summary: ON CERTAIN SEDANS, COUPES, HATCHBACKS, AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, ELECTRICAL CONTACTS IN THE IGNITION SWITCH CAN DEGRADE DUE TO THE HIGH ELECTRICAL CURRENT PASSING THROUGH THE SWITCH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED.

Consequence Summary: WORN CONTACTS COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STALL WITHOUT WARNING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Corrective Summary: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JUNE 14, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT HONDA AT 1-800-999-1009 OR ACURA AT 1-800-382-2238 "
