Looking for paint help for full car painting
Hey guys I am looking to paint my entire car and wanted to know what types of paints I should look for when looking for a paint shop/body shop? Any other info would help. Should I worry about devaluing my car?
When you go shop hunting make sure the shop is clean. Ask to look around. Ask for pictures as well as name of former customers. Then call the customers and see what they think of the shop. We use dupont and PPG at work. I like PPG myself (it covers better). Ask about turn around time and about any warrenty's (most shops will offer a year while some offer 5 years). If the shop offers no warrenty stay away (but almost no shop will warrenty rust repair). I'm sure I'm leaving out a lot . Goodluck
If you are doing a color change, find out what is included. Are they going to pull the windows, or mask over the moldings? I would tell them I wanted to come in when the car was all masked to make sure I was getting what I wanted. Make sure to go with a reputable shop, I got screwed.

Thanks for the replies guys. The paint shop I got my body kit painted at had to paint my body kit 4 times before it was close to the color. My car is Frost white 98 Integra. I am now looking into getting the whole car painted since it still looks a bit two toned
. Yesterday a guy came up to me and ask me if my car was gray or white. Hurt my feelings a bit. Anyway the shop I looked into uses Dupont and another uses PPG. The one that uses PPG mixes there one paint to make colors exact.
How much should I look to pay to get my whole car painted?
What type of paint? Polyurethane etc?
Thanks again

may i suggest wash/polish/was etc?? ur car color may be confusin others cuz u might not polish it or was it and the tone changes. SO if u want to save money just buy some polishes, was etc... and spent the money on the engine of urs. just my opinion, or you just hate the color on the car right now?
No i wax it every 2-3 months with Meguiar's 3 step wax. It is probably one of the best out there. Might I also add that I wash my car regularly (every week) and garage it most the time. I I don't see how that would be. Thanks for your reply tough. Still looking for help

My cousin had his 90 Integra painted a dark blue color. It was pretty nice. Not bad for the price also, $1,200 for the whole car w/body kit, including the door hinges & hatch area. They use Dupoint also.
