Expo 6 - Greet, Meet, and Race at Chicago Indoor Racing?
Hey everybody!
How many of you would be interested in a Meet and Race at Chicago Indoor Racing in Buffalo Grove, IL the Saturday or Sunday prior to Expo 6?
Chicago Indoor Racing (CIR) is an 86,000 square foot kart racing and entertainment center located in Buffalo Grove. The facility caters to all motor sport enthusiasts, ranging from the enthusiastic fan, eager to get a taste of real wheel to wheel racing, to the hard core racer looking to hone his skills through additional seat time.
All safety equipment is provided and there are many race formats to choose from. Cost can vary depending on the number of racers, but typically falls between $50-80 per racer. For more information about CIR, go to: http://www.chicagoindoorracing.com.

The parking lot can easily handle over 150 cars and there is a bar and grill upstairs. In addition, CIR has connections at local hotels, so those caravanning to Michigan for the Expo have a place to stay.
Let me know what you think,
Brian.

Buffalo Grove is a Northwest Suburb of Chicago and is about 160 miles from South Haven, MI. It's about a 2.5 hour trip depending on how the traffic is through Chicago.
If we can get more than 40 people, the price per person will be less. One of my favorite formats is the team endurance race. It starts with a timed practice/qualifying session which determines your starting position for the endurance race. The endurance race is a 100 lap team effort requiring driver changes. Teams are typically made up of 2-5 people. Due to the speed and grip the karts are capable of, most people get very tired after only 20 laps!
Maybe Saturday afternoon/evening would be best. Race, then eat, stay at a local hotel and then drive up to GingerMan Sunday morning..?

Im not sure how gung hoe the those travelling from the NE will be for another 2.5 hours on the road. I personally would love to be there, but don't think i am willing to travel the extra miles. With gas prices inflating so much, the 10 hour drive will be expensive enough. I hope all that attend have a great time though

Those coming from outside the Chicago area should be aware that the Dan Ryan Expressway, which is the stretch of I-90/I-94 from downtown Chicago south to where I-57 splits off, is under construction and only half the normal lanes are open. This expressway should be avoided at all costs.
If you're traveling to or from Chicago Indoor Racing from east or south of Chicago, you should go around the city using I-294. Do NOT drive right past downtown Chicago on I-90/I-94.
I just posted similar information in the Expo topic.

We should just have an chicago itr meet the day before or that sat and have a softball game chicago against out of towners or newbies vs og's... saves money and we can have an excuse to do a bbque.
just a thought i've been pondering to welcome the out of towners who are stopping by, of course that would require cooperation and maybe chicago itr owners to let some of the out of towners stay or crash at their place before leaving for sun to exblo! Just a thought.
Plus we can do it at the old spot where we use to have it since parking accomodation is available and i believe they do have a softball/baseball ground area for the game. C'mon i know opie has his bat in his ride ready.
