Oh, I can tell you to follow Ross clearance or you might be sorry. They expand *a lot* and need all that clearance.
If you don't follow their directives, they will scuff. They could even seize in extreme conditions.
Been there, done that.
We run them at 9 thousands on our Mirage. Funny thing is that you can hardly hear any slap from them...

.006" clearance is huge when most turbo pistons use about .0035". I would think they would knock like crazy. Is your block sleeved?
This is Tom J from Arias Pistons.
Run The .006 it calls for or you will Have a huge problem.
There are some people on this bord that clame to know about pistons dont listen to them. Your pistons will be fine @ .006 if a piston calls for 003 and it is @ .006 then you will have a little nock in your motor but it will still run fine. It will just make noise.
Pistons that call for .006 wont make noise if they use the right piston cam on the piston.
If still in doubt call Ross they will tell you what you need to know

BTW, we run .009 because Ross tells to add .002 for the nitrous. Then we added an extra .001 for luck.
I'm not saying to run .009 on yours, just to follow Ross specs for your application.

The "cam" Tom is talking about is the shape of the piston. You may want to start with new rings if you already gapped them for the smaler bore.
