Default will not having an ECU and motor in the car make the whole electrical system turn off?

recently i took my motor out since i mishifted and bend couple of my valves. going to replace it with a new motor and rebuild my old one. also took the Ecu out and sold it since im getting another Ecu for turbo. now i have no ECU connected. should the whole electrical system turn off like that? the only light that on right now is a oil light on the gauge(even if the key is out). nothing in the car turn on. the radio don't turn on, no a/c, no clock or anything, no headlights/tail lights either. is there a system in the 97 honda prelude that tell the whole electrical system to turn off if there no ecu in there? i check all the fuses and jumper my battery and it still don't work. i wanted to test my new HID headlight, but nothing turn on. when i had my ecu in there with the blown motor, everything worked. anyone know about this or experience this problem? thx for the help guys.

the ecu doesnt have anything to do with car electrical power....id check the main relay and also start checking fuses....do you have a multimeter?

All the rest of electrical devices in your car shoul work properly. I have semi-disassembled car and last time we needed to open the sunroof- no problem.

yes i got the power cable hook up, and ground. i also got another ecu and connect it again today, but it still the same. the only light that on right now is the oil warning light on the gauge cluster. i check all the fuses already, where the main relay that could went bad? how u know if a relay goes bad?

i dont have an ohmmeter
