mtf/gm sychromesh
ok heres the deal, i searched and found people only putting straight MTF or straight GM synchromesh. i remember reading somwhere to mix the 2 one quart honda mtf and fill the rest with gm roughly 1.5 quarts. what are your thoughts on this?
I used to grind 3rd after like 5k rpm. As soon as I switched to Pennzoil synchromesh, it completely disappeared. Hasn't grinded in about 7000 miles, even after shifting at 8k rpm, no grinds ever. Stuff worked for me

I believe I paid $6 a bottle at Autozone. Well worth it if you ask me. It really solved my grinding issue and have not had one grind shifting into 3rd since using it.

if you don't have any grinds stick w/ the honda fluid till you need the syncromesh

well all that, and my question still didnt get answered. i know the stuff works but, DO YOU MIX THE 2 TOGETHER OR JUST RUN ONE OR THE OTHER? (i.e. honda MTF, GM, Torco, motul, ect.)

One or the other. I use straight Pennzoil Synchromesh. I thought that was clear in my above posts.

It depends. Honda transmissions originally called for motor oil. Now, Honda calls for their MTF, which is a low viscosity oil. Pennzoil Synchromesh is also a low viscosity oil.

i went to NAPA today to get my syncromesh.......the guy behind the counter said they dont carry gm products. i told him to check with a big fat

so i hoped back in the hooptie flew down to the local BUICK dealer
and picked up my 2.5 quarts
just kidding i got 3 so i went home and put that **** in (then i put my moms new wheels on her new mini convrt
**** looks hot) and took her for a ride.. i had crappy lucas oil in there and took forever to warm up (got the thick stuff) but the new GM FM stuff feels smooth it still clicks a little going into 3rd but it seem soooo much smother... a big fat
