I am just wondering what the effin point of a parking pole is. I have heard of them just dont get how there useful.....

They're used in Japan to help the driver parallel park. Kinda helps you see how close you are to the car in front of you.

No. I took it of because someone had stolen the top part of the bumper pole off of the bumper so it wouldn't stay where it's supposed to.

IMO jdm parking poles are close to useless... the secret to parking is practice and paying attention. I think it makes you look like someone who rides a bike with training wheels, or someone who needs a proximity detector for reverse parking... but hey what does my opinion matter. go jdm hotness

 

The parking pole is supposed to be rigged with a button inside the cabin. basically for stupid drivers who are not intimately intuitive with thheir cars need the pole to know jsut where the far corner of their car is. Sitting in a rhd car the left hand front corner is the farthest part of the front and it slopes down away from view so you dont knwo where it is. the pole comes up so when you are parking in tight spaces you have visual confirmation of just where that corner is. that way you know for sure just how far you are. Like the old buicks and cadlillacs had those metal srpingy things sticking out the side of the wheel well that scratches the curb so you know you parked close enough.
