Unless you can tell if the belt has excessive wear on it, or you can feel it missing and whatnot, you should be fine waiting to do it until you reach 75k miles. Once you reach 75k, then I would do it.

You are at 7 years so it's not going to hurt to do it now but the odds are with you to hold off a little while longer.

well, you know about interference engines, don't you???

you can stretch it to the limits stated in your manual... or see link for specifics...

what year of accord and what engine?

From 1994-97 the recommeneded change point was 90K for I4 and I believe that the V6 had a chain

from 1998-2002 it was 105K for all engines

I am not sure about the 03- newer cars as I have heard 120K

keep in mind that whatever miles your odometer registers you got to add a lot more,, especially if you do a lot of city driving,, when car is at stop lites or behind traffic engine is still running but miles will not add up,,
75k a good rule of thumb , 6 years if you reside in a very dry . hot climate, AZ, NV. etc etc

It's all depend on the driver...
I change my first belt at 105k.
2000 accord.

I plan to change them again in 5 year or another 90k miles, which ever come first.

i think 90k is a good rule, you never know who had the car before you and a rebuild does the engine good

K-series engines (2003+ 4-cyl) uses a timing chain. I don't know about 2003+ V6...

When the timing belt breaks, the pistons can come up and hit the valves. You could have bent valves, or worse. Depends how fast the engine was turning when the belt broke.

Sounds like whatever you paid for it, was probably wasted.

if the bottom of the motor is good, swap a H22/23 head on it.......pretty decent compromise for the price paid........
