What do you think the purpose of the trunk hook is the 2006 Accord Sedan. Hint: It's not the cargo net. If you see the cargo net instructions, you actually replace this part with a special hook for the net.

I've heard of cars having a hook to hold plastic shopping bags (like from your grocery store), to keep the items from sliding around.

I've not seen the trunk of the '06 but this may be it's purpose.

It's just there in case you need to hang something, like a plastic bag that you don't want flying around. In my car ('99 Accord), my rollerblades hang from that hook.

 

its to hand grovery bags on...the plastic ones.....

and the cargo net instructions I have make USE of that hook for the net in the coupes

 

i thought you meant the emergency escape latch.
